PHS Business Courses

For the 2021-22 school year, the following courses are available:

Accounting I

FULL YEAR (5 CR). GRADES 9 - 12.

PREREQUISITES: NONE

Accounting is the lingua franca of business. Ever watch one of those shows where they help restaurants succeed? The first question is "HOW MUCH MONEY ARE YOU MAKING?" Without Accounting skills, you cannot answer that question. Even if you don't become an accountant, you'll use these skills in your personal life, and especially if you own or manage a business.

Accounting I covers a fair amount of the material one would see in an introductory college course, but at a high school pace. Non-business majors should consider this course, since after moving up into middle management, one is often asked to create and manage budgets.

Recommended for students considering majoring in Business, or students planning to run their own businesses.

Accounting II

FULL YEAR (5 CR). GRADES 10-12.

PREREQUISITES: ACCOUNTING I & INSTRUCTOR RECOMMENDATION.
